Mississippi Queen's History

The Mississippi Queen is a 1991, 73 passenger THOMAS School Bus powered by an International Harvester diesel V-8 engine.

Our committee decided that it was time for us to purchase a bus, so we started looking. After quite a few months, we found this bus listed on EBay. The bus was located in Jackson Mississippi, hence the name "Mississippi Queen". We were the highest bidder on the bus. That weekend, Mr. Schulte and Mr. Hamilton flew into New Orleans and then drove up to Jackson Mississippi where we met the bus owner "Freddie the Frog". After inspecting the bus, we paid Freddie the Frog and started the trip back down to Plant City. Since that time, we've made minor repairs on the bus and had it labeled to reflect that it was the Troop 5 Scout Bus.
